Dear Parents/Carers

WELCOME BACK TO THE THIRD TERM!

I hope you all had a restful Easter break and are ready for the beginning of our online end of year Term. Everyone has had to adapt to new ways of learning, and I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all parents for the amazing job you’re doing supporting your child’s wellbeing and learning while they are away from us.

During these unprecedented times, it is perfectly normal if you and your child feel wobbly and worried at the moment and as parents, the school understands that you are doing your very best under very difficult circumstances.  Remember, if you have any concerns about supporting your child’s home learning; please let us know by contacting the home learning email address which can be found on the website.

We all miss the children and the amazing school community that we are, but we must follow the government’s guidance to keep everyone in our community safe.  So, home learning and provision for vulnerable pupils and children of critical workers will continue until further notice.

However, just because we’re not all in the same building, doesn’t mean we can’t keep the community going! Your children will have lots of home learning activities they can get stuck into over this end of year Term under their Year Class tabs on the school website – so keep a close eye on this every week.

Following announcements this weekend, the government also released a new online education platform at CRTV tele and Radio which is another additional learning resource for parents to access.  It is important to note that New Hope Primary School and King David College have not been part of any preparation or planning of these materials and therefore any queries regarding the content cannot be answered by our staff.  We shall be uploading our content as per the SMS sent to all parents during Easter and have these ready for our pupils, hildren and Students.

We are also looking forward to seeing the children’s fantastic learning at home – please keep sending their work in via their class watsapp teachers addresses as we would like to showcase some of their efforts, in due course.

We can’t say when we’ll be able to open again for the whole school, but the government has made announcement of reopenning on the 1st of June 2020  rest assured that we’ll continue doing our best to keep your child learning and our school community connected.

Yours sincerely

Samuel Ngube
