The effect of environmental degration has led to climate change throughout the world. Many governments and nongovernmental organization are committed to fight against this. The Pan African Parliamentarian Network on climate change in Cameroon has been active on the field educating Cameroonians on climate change, its causes, manifestation, impact and prevention. Their wish, to teach by examples, has caused the members of this network to plant trees in certain areas of the Far North, North West and Centre Regions.
The network, apart from the tree planting, carries out awareness campaigns denouncing all destructive activities to the environment. It has also signed PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS. Some of these agreements include that with the ministry of women’s Empowerment and the Family, making women an integral part of the tree planting exercise. Two other agreements were signed with mayors and national council of Traditional Rulers of Cameroon. Both agreements are meant to intensify the tree planting exercise and follow-up to make sure the tree planting exercise and follow-up to make sure the trees grow well while preventing the population from activities that can lead to environmental degration.
