Summary School Rules & Regulations 2020/2021 Hand over to Parents

 Once a pupil has entered the school premises he is under the supervision of the school. He shall comply with the school rules and regulations at all times. All students must abide by a code of conduct. Hence, the rules and regulations are devised and updated every now and then to suit the school and the social environment.

 1.ARRIVALS AND LATENESSES

The pupils should be in attendance at school at 7.30 a.m and they should report immediately on their arrival to their allocated classroom for the morning register (8.00 – 8.15 a.m) The register is held under the supervision of the class Teacher or the Assistant class Teacher. Pupils are expected to observe strict punctuality for morning and afternoon registers.

1.1 A pupil who is late the class teacher must mark his name in the Lateness Book, take a lateness form which he will fill in and hand to the pupils for the parents awareness.

1.2 A pupil who comes to school late without any plausible reason will be punished without warning. Three cases of lateness without a plausible explanation in one week, will automatically lead to a parents convocation in school. If that continues, Parents will have to be warned by a written form.

 2. EARLY DEPARTURES

No pupil will leave school without the permission of the Head teacher. Only in exceptional cases will a Responsible Parties be granted permission to take his/her child away from school during the day. Please note only the Responsible Parties should come to take their child bringing with them their Identity Card. Only Responsible Parties will be authorized to visit their children in school. Responsible Parties who call at school will be asked to first sign in the Visitors’ Book, to produce their identity cards and may be authorized to talk to their child in the presence of the class teacher or head teacher.

3. ABSENCES

 Pupils who are sick Parents should report to the main office one hour before 8am . No Pupils should be absent to class for no reason. If absent, Pupils should be accompanied by responsible persons to school the next days for absence justification.

 3.1.A pupil who is often late or absent, who is also often reported missing from classroom or whose work and conduct are not satisfactory will be set on “Special Report”, that is, he will be issued a Special Report book to be signed by the Head-master at the end of every single week.

3.2. If, in spite of above measures, there is no improvement the parents of this pupil shall received a warning letter and will be given a last chance of improving.

 4. VALUABLES

Pupils should avoid wearing very expensive jewellery at school which will not be responsible for any losses. Pupils are advised not to carry important sums of money in their bags or   pockets and should not leave their bags or valuables unattended. The school declines all responsibility in such cases (walkman, discman, games, mobile phones, money, jewellery, etc...)

5. TERM REPORTS

All Term Reports are issued at the end of each Term or beginning of the following term and should be returned to the class Master not later than the first Friday following resumption of school. Pupils tampering with grades or signature of Responsible Party in the report book will be severely punished and may be rusticated from school.

 5.1. The Report Book is a most important document. No Leaving Certificate may be issued if it is missing. Therefore it is the duty of every pupil/parent/teacher to handle it with care.

 6. PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Compulsory for all pupils unless excused on grounds of health. A Medical Certificate should be sent to explain why the pupils should be excused from Physical Education. They should have their P.E. outfit (Shorts, Vests and Gym shoes for their P.E. and games sessions –).

7. LIBRARY

 (a) Books are found in each classroom for pupils research and can be used by these pupils during their free periods. 

(b) Pupils may use library during breaks and recess. 

(c) Pupils/teachers should not tamper with the books and/or magazines. If they are caught tampering with books, they will have to make up for the damage.

8. PROMOTION

 Final decision for promotion rests with the Founding Directors /Head Teachers after consultation with staff. Pupils who fail may have to repeat the class. This rule will apply from class one. Failing end-of-year exams on the same class twice means: leaving school.

8.1. Class/School Prefects

Elected by the pupils/staff To be chosen a class/school Prefect, pupils must have a clean record. Choice is subject to approval of Head Teachers. These pupils are mostly those who started school from our Nursery.

 9. PHOTOGRAPHS

No parent/staff/visitor is allowed to take any photograph to a pupil at school either by phone or camara. For official photos, only the Head teachers and Bursars are allowed to used the school camara and school phones. Parents are also informed that pupils registered in our school, may have their photos used on our school website/YouTube/Facebook/school prospectus.

 

10. PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

All Parents must attend the Parents Teachers Association meetings and contribute for this association if possible.

11. OUTINGS AND INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS

Whenever an outing is organized by the school, a circular is always sent to parents. Circular letters are also sent to Parents regarding the time-table of their children for the Internal Examinations. Such letters must be kept in the school File for reference.

12. CORRESPONDENCE

 In any correspondence from the school, the name, class, school phone number and address of the school should be inserted inside the letter.

13. MOBILE PHONES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED DURING SCHOOL HOURS

 Staff/Parents/Visitors (Specially in classrooms and examination rooms) Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in schools. (circular letter No.39 of 22 September 19… and circular ME/206/15 of 24 July 2001 from the Ministry of Education). They should be switched off between 8.00 a.m. to 2.45 p.m. When pupils are ill parents should contact the head teacher or main office through school phone numbers.

14. BREAKS

Pupils should remain in class during breaks. ( We shall update….) .

15. PHONE CALLS

Pupils may use the school phone or will be allowed to take any incoming calls from parents in cases of emergency. Pupils at all times should respect the staff. They should be very conscious of hygiene and cleanliness.

16. SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES

 All pupils must attend.

17. SCHOOL UNIFORM

A pupil of the school must wear the correct school uniform on all occasions when he is under school discipline .  A pupil failing to wear the proper school uniform runs the risk of being punished at any time without warning and he may expect to be sent home immediately to get properly dressed. Excuses such as uniform is wet, torn, dirty, etc... will not be accepted. (i) Blue lines over white line shirt, Blue shorts or trousers with school badge. White Socks visible. All pupils must present themselves clean and tidy at school each day. Hair should be properly combed and cut down for the boys, Girls and plate .

18. DAMAGE TO SCHOOL PROPERTY

Damage to property caused accidentally should be reported to the H/Ts immediately. In case of damage caused on purpose, the cost of repair must be paid by pupils parents. There must be no carving, scratching or drawing on desks or defacement of property in any other way. Pupils caught doing any such damage will be made to pay for the necessary repairs and will be punished.

19. GENERAL

 Parents who wish to meet the Founding Director and discuss matters concerning their child/children must first take an appointment during school hours. They may be received between 3pm. To 6.30 p.m. Exceptionally on Saturdays from 10am to 12 noon
